Human COT DNA

Description:

• Human placenta COT DNA decreases false positive signals in Microarrays, in situ Hybridizations, and Southern blots by acting as a blocking agent for repetitive sequences.
• EURx COT DNA has been optimized for a size range of 50 to 300 base pairs which represents the theoretical maximum size for repetitive sequences.
• 0,5 mg is sufficient for 5 to 10 Southern or 500 in situ hybridizations.

Storage Conditions: Store at -20°C. Store the working solution at +4°C.

Storage Buffer: 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.4), 1.0 mM EDTA (1 x TE Buffer).

Quality Control:

A260/A280 Ratio: 1.71

Determination of Molecular Size: When run on a 4% agarose gel, >50% of Human COT DNA migrates between 50-300 base pairs.

Y-Chromosome: Material manufactured from only male placentas.

All preparations are assayed for contaminating endonuclease and nonspecific RNase and single- and double-stranded DNase activities.
